The Free and Democratic Bulgaria Foundation (FDBF)

The Free and Democratic Bulgaria Foundation (FDBF) was founded on 14 June 1991 by Yvonne and Dimitry Panitza. It is dedicated to strengthening the democratization of Bulgarian society through political pluralism, a free press, a market economy, tolerance, youth education, open dialogue. The Foundation is a private and totally independent organization. Its means are modest, its accounts are audited annually and its overhead costs are kept at a minimum, under ten percent of the total expenditures.

Care International

CARE is an independent humanitarian organisation working to end world poverty. With programmes in about 70 countries, CARE touches the lives of over 45 million of the world's poorest people. Whether supporting primary health care, promoting sustainable agriculture or developing savings and loan schemes, our programmes promote positive and lasting change and reduce long-term dependency. CARE also provides emergency food and shelter to survivors of natural disasters, wars and conflicts.

'Save The Children'

Save the Children was set up after the WW I, in 1919, to support child victims of war and their families. The founder of Save the Children Eglantine Jebb was the author of the first declaration on the rights of the child which was written in 1923 and underpinned the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The UK’s leading children’s charity, Save the Children UK is now working in 70 countries, including in the Balkans and Eastern Europe: Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro and Kosovo. Save the Children UK is a member of the International Save the Children Alliance which brings together 32 independent organisations bearing the same name.

National Council for Co-operation on Ethnic and Demographic Issues

The National Council on Ethnic and Demographic Issues (NCEDI) under the Council of Ministers is a state-cum-public body established by Council of Ministers Decree No. 449 dated 4 December 1997. According to Article 1 of the Rules of Organization and Procedure, the Council is ‘a body for consultations, cooperation and coordination between government bodies and nongovernmental organizations, designed to formulate and implement national policy on ethnic and demographic issues and migration.

The web portal of the ethnic minorities in Bulgaria is a joint project of the National Council on Ethnic and Demographic Issues and Open Society Institute - Sofia. Bulgarian Helsinki committee developed the initial concept on the portal's functioning.
